Palmetto Fire Apparatus is a full-service maintenance and repair facility. We can service any brand, make or model of emergency vehicle. We are an authorized manufacturer service center for Hale and Supthen. We can fix small mechanical problems or complete pump overhauls, our services are unlimited in fire apparatus repair.
To meet the requirements of the NFPA following pump repairs, Palmetto Fire Apparatus has installed an on site 12,000 gallon pump test pit. The test pit is also utilized to facilitate annual pump testing for the surrounding area. Should repairs arise during pump testing we are capable of making the repairs and retesting the unit, possibly the same day, thus reducing down time for our customers.
Our service center has 6,500 square feet of climate controlled shop area and 500 square feet of office space. We are capable to handle units up to 65' long and 13' 6" high. From pumps, brakes, lighting, electrical systems, to power steering, we can service your entire apparatus fleet, including aerials. If your equipment has been through a large incident, we can perform bumper-to-bumper checks to make sure your ready for the next call.
We understand taking a unit out of your district for service is not always practical. Our mobile service truck can perform all the same service we perform in the shop except for pump testing. We recommend you fax us any additional repairs you may think necessary 48 hours before your scheduled service. This can save you time and money. We comply with all State and local regulation for disposal of waste products.
We do preventive maintenance service work, and we can do it at any location.
A maintenance contract with Palmetto Fire Apparatus will make you eligible for reduced rates and guaranteed appointments. We will always put our loyal contract customers firsts. Protect your taxpayer's investment with regular preventive maintenance. Regular preventive maintenance reduces the chances of the BIG repair. Because of the intense work these vehicles perform, periodic checkups are a great way to make sure your investment and your firefighter safety comes first.
